The kick-off for the assembly of the Concrewall-Line, a production line for prefabricated houses took place in December 2007. From May, 2008, 1.5 houses per day will be completed. There is great demand for the sector housing construction. Throughout Romania, there is a lack of 1.600.000 apartments, 40.000 of which in Timişoara.

In the sector Hall Construction, 450 t of steel were handled per month in 2007. In order to execute custom orders, the necessary machinery and equipment was acquired, i.e. a plasma gas-cutting machine, an edge bending machine, MIG/MAG-welding machines, and sandblast and painting booths.

In the sector Engineering, ATON Transilvania has signed contracts with the ATON companies Reform and Schmidt-Seeger as well as the company Astra Vagoane Arad. A collaboration with the ATON daughter Deilmann-Haniel International Mining and Tunneling GmbH is currently being prepared. By further upgrading with new machinery and lines, the steel construction capacity is going to grow to yield 3.000 t of steel per month by the end of 2008.

In the coming months, steel processing will be completed by the Kaltenbach-line, the Gietart-line, the automated Cloos welding line and the Unimak plate cutting line. In order to guarantee for the required quality of the products, a self-contained laboratory for steel processing is being set up. The construction of a foundry with a production capacity of 15.000 t per year is being planned by creating an economic concept until May 2008. The entire production area for steel construction is going to be extended in 2008 from 1,7 up to 6 ha. In 2007, ATON Transilvania employed a staff of 285 in the section steel construction.
