ATON takes over Lumera Laser GmbH

Via its subsidiary ATON Prisma GmbH, ATON GmbH has taken over 100% of shares in the Lumera Laser GmbH, located in Kaiserslautern (www.lumera-laser.com ). Lumera Laser develops and manufactures picosecond lasers, which allow for a cold, non-deforming abrasive for a virtually unlimited variety of materials by using short pulses.
Innovativ Market Leader Employing a staff of 40 and achieving a turnover of 7 Mio. Euros, Lumera Laser is said to be an innovative market leader in this niche of high technology.The main customers are institutes (research), medical technology (dental ophthalmology), micro machine technology and plant engineering (semiconductors, solar cells, et al.).
At the same time, ATON Prisma took over IBL Innovative Berlin Laser GmbH (www.ib-laser.com), which already belongs to the ATON Group. It complements Lumera Laser perfectly and will be continued as its subsidiary. ATON Prisma further took shares in the OptoSIC AG, Baden-Baden, which is presently being built up. The firm targets higher speeds and quality of laser beam guidance by using scanning mirrors made of silicon carbide.
