Gerd Brandecker repurchases Cirrus Airlines

Cirrus Group Holding GmbH is reorganising its business operations. The goal is to enhance the Business Aviation and regional flight divisions in cooperation with Lufthansa. That is the reason why Cirrus Group Holding has sold the subsidiaries of Cirrus Airlines, Cirrus Technik, Cirrus Flight Training, Cirrus Technical Training and nana tours to Aviation Investment GmbH that is wholly owned by Gerd Brandecker.
The subsidiaries DC Aviation and Augsburg Airways continue to belong to the Cirrus Group Holding that is still owned by ATON GmbH. ATON will mainly focus on business aviation and the wetlease business for international aviation groups, that most notably include the Lufthansa group.
Gerd Brandecker had this to say about his decision to purchase the company: “These are moving times in the European aviation sector. As an entrepreneur I am excited by the prospect of restructuring the future of the airline that I founded in 1995 at this very moment in time. I am at home in the field of aviation and I will be putting my faith in the experience and flexibility of our staff."
