Schmidt-Seeger GmbH becomes part of the Bühler Group
Pressemitteilung: Fulda, 20. 08. 2010
ATON GmbH has today sold Schmidt-Seeger GmbH to Bühler, the international technology group, subject to the consent of the Federal Cartel Office.
When Schmidt-Seeger was acquired by ATON in 2007, the company was in a difficult economical situation. In the last three years, the Schmidt-Seeger staff, management and ATON have joined forces and brought about considerable progress within the company. However, to be able to handle further stages of development, for instance stepping up globalisation, and bring about the desired success, Schmidt-Seeger will need a strategic partner.
We are pleased to have found a strategic partner for Schmidt-Seeger GmbH in Bühler; and moreover one which is culturally compatible with Schmidt-Seeger. Schmidt-Seeger which, over the years has been managed by its owner, embodies a locally and deeply rooted globality, and is characterised by an inventiveness which is down-to-earth and at the same time full of life. In these respects, Bühler is very similar. This assessment held true throughout negotiations.
It has also been expressly agreed that Beilngries is to be expanded to become the competence centre for the Bühler Group's grain management. ATON wishes Bühler and Schmidt-Seeger a successful future together.
